Our Bigs
I wanted to write about MG's conversation this morning so I will never forget the sweetness!
I went upstairs to wake up the Bigs and MG was asleep on the couch... we put them to bed in their beds I was sure of it! I asked her why she was not in her bed and she pushed the covers off of herself and sat up COMPLETELY dressed and told me the following:
"I woke up from a really bad dream in the night. I had a bad dream about a ghost and I went down to your room, but your door was closed and I didn't want to wake you up so I came back up and was crying. G asked me what was wrong and I told him I had a bad dream. He said that I could get in his bed until I felt better. He told me it was all going to be ok and he sang "God is Bigger than the Boogey Man" to me. I just laid and talked and then the sun came up and I wasn't tired anymore so I got dressed and made my bed and brushed my teeth... but then felt tired so I laid down here... and fell back asleep..."
These two have the normal love/hate relationship of siblings. They will stick up for each other, but man will they FIGHT and can be so mean. This made my heart swell just knowing that our little girl knows she can go to her brother for support and he loves her enough to sing to her in the middle of the night and most importantly that he showed her the love and protection of Christ. I have many doubts that I'm doing things right, but moments like this morning show we're doing something right.
