"God blesses obedience"

I feel like we are starting to get into a pretty good routine. The newness of being home all day has worn off and the kids are already at the point where they don't want to wake up and get ready for school and I've had the dreaded "I hate school" and rolling of the eyes... yes, already! I really thought that since they have been in public school that they would be happy with just 3 worksheets for the day and just a few hours of school! Gracious! I am reassured by my other friends that my kids are in fact normal though! I threatened them with going back to school and it helped for a day or two and then we had it again... and the fighting, wowzers! I already told you a little about that, but Seth had to get involved. We had a family meeting and Seth laid down the law and informed then that this homeschool deal isn't going to go away. We prayed about this before we took this major leap and we believe that God would have us do this and they aren't going to hinder it. We can talk to the Bigs like this. They get it. They asked questions and it was a really nice time to go over expectations again and lay out a schedule that we will be adhering to. We've not had problems since. We really do have to level with kids. Give them a chance to understand and ask questions and they really will!!!
We did our Meals on Wheels service Wednesday and I dressed them all the same... I tried to get a picture because I love the shirts and they are too cute in them, but the picture taking didn't work in their time frame...apparently. Those shirts are perfect for us and it's our preacher's favorite saying "God blesses obedience". How appropriate for our life all the time, but a great reminder and proof right now.

The Bigs were in a production at church last Sunday. We were so very proud of them both!

G looks so much like Seth in this picture!

G was the Captain of Starship J316. He had loads of lines and we were blown away at how fast he memorized his lines and was so steady on stage!

MG had two different small solos and did fantastic! She is definitely not scared of being on stage or stepping up to a mic alone! She is a performer and we need to let both of them run wild with it - there might be something there! Ha!

After church we celebrated G's 10th birthday! I can't believe that he is 10! He is double digits now (we've heard that over and over). He is such a loving boy. He is the one that has the biggest heart... and the most sensitive stomach! He really is my "Angel Gabriel". I don't know how much longer I'll be able to get by calling him my angel or my baby, but it is getting less and less... sad!

Since it was our first full week of school we have had some tests. MG made a 100 on her first math test and so did G! MG also had a phonics test. While she didn't make a 100, I had to assure her over and over that she did wonderful. She was very upset with the fact that she didn't make a 100. She thought that we would be mad at her. I told her she was crazy! As long as she tries her best, we will always be proud.

Look at that face! She was super proud of her 100!!
W loves his big sister (most of the time!) and she loves him (when he is being sweet) so they like to do some school work together. I let her read to him and this helps her reading, but he doesn't stay put for the whole story that she has to read which will aggravate her. He will stay put for a puzzle though! This kid loves to do puzzles.
W has really started to not want to nap like he used to. He used to HAVE to be asleep by noon or one at the latest and sleep for a good 3-4 hours! Since we've been home and he knows we are all still up the kid will NOT stay in his bed and go to sleep. I've had to start putting a gate up (which he climbs over now) and I finally gave up trying to make him stay in his bed as long as he stayed in his room. He almost always falls asleep... on the floor!
 Bless it!!!!
